Due to their high surface tension, Benda-Lutz® leafing aluminium pigments migrate toward the surface of the coating film. This enrichment and alignment at the boundary yields high metallic brilliance and gloss. Fine flakes have higher mobility during the drying process resulting in a higher degree of surface alignment and significantly more defined chrome effect.
