BYK-345

BYK 345 is a silicone surfactant that provides strong reduction of surface tension and improves substrate wetting for aqueous coatings. BYK 345 can be used in formulations at 0.05-0.5% levels. As a solvent-free version of BYK 346, BYK 345 requires only a small amount of co-solvent like 5% of total solvents to avoid turbidity. Its effectiveness is reduced at higher co-solvent amounts. BYK 345 gives large decrease in surface tension for aqueous systems, improving wetting and leveling for coatings. It does not increase surface slip or cause foam stabilization. BYK 345 can benefit advanced material coatings by enhancing substrate coverage and uniform thickness for superior performance and quality.
