BYK-8070

BYK-8070 is a soap-based foam stabilizer additive that can be used for mechanically foamable plastics and composites. BYK-8070 stabilizes the foam structure when added to the matrix material, allowing for a very fine, homogeneous and open-celled foam structure to form. This unique foam structure achieves excellent compression resistance for the finished material. BYK-8070 is recommended for use at levels between 1-4 parts per hundred resin and can be post-added during mixing or directly injected into mechanical foaming equipment. The stabilized foam structure enabled by BYK-8070 improves mechanical properties like strength and stiffness for the targeted advanced material end use applications.
