GENIOSIL WP1

GENIOSIL® WP1 is a polyether-based, silane-modified polymer that is suitable as a binder for moisture-curing liquid waterproofing. The clear, colorless liquid has a slight but characteristic odor and differs from conventional silane-modified polymers in its high reactivity. This is a direct consequence of the structural proximity of the nitrogen atom to the silicon atom in the dimethoxy(methyl)silyl methyl carbamate end group (alpha effect). The product ultimately hydrolyses to a stable siloxane network in the presence of moisture, a process initiated by mild basic catalysis without the involvement of heavy metal ions.
