About the nasal spray tutorial

Mucoadhesive polymers are continuously being explored for various drug applications. At IMCD, we started using these omni-applicable polymers in our lozenges and then continued into gels, sprays, creams, and strips. With increasing difficulties with patient compliance, mucoadhesion can provide a solution to this challenge. There are a range of benefits of using mucoadhesive polymers including prolonged local activity and controlled release. The manufacturing of polyacrylic containing systems can be a challenging one, so its activation and neutralization become the first challenge when preparing a gel media. In this video we used a Dexpanthenol nasal spray as an example of a challenging formula and the ways of obtaining a stable, viscous yet sprayable mucoadhesive formulation.
